Terms of Service

Clear, transparent policies defining our service commitments, warranty provisions, and customer agreements.

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By booking an appointment, requesting emergency dispatch, or approving a repair estimate with Potomac Appliance Repair ("PAR", "we", or "our"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, please inform our dispatch team prior to scheduling service.

2. Diagnostic Fee and Transparent Pricing

Our certified technicians perform comprehensive mechanical, sensor, and electrical triage on your appliance. A flat diagnostic fee applies to this investigative visit.

100% Diagnostic Credit: If you proceed with the recommended repair based on our itemized quote, 100% of the diagnostic fee is credited directly toward your final service bill. You only pay for the completed repair and authorized parts.

3. Estimates and Repair Authorizations

We never initiate billable repairs without your explicit verbal or written authorization. Our technicians explain the root failure, the necessary OEM replacement components, labor requirements, and the total cost upfront.

4. Warranty Provisions (Parts & Labor)

We take pride in our workmanship and stand firmly behind every job:

  • OEM Replacement Parts: All factory-certified replacement parts are backed by the manufacturer's warranty and our supplementary guarantee.
  • Labor Warranty: All installation and mechanical service labor is backed by our direct service warranty covering defects in workmanship.
  • Exclusions: Warranties do not cover failures resulting from external electrical power surges, homeowner modifications, foreign debris in pump impellers, water line freezing, or insect/pest infestations.

5. Property Access and Safety

The homeowner or an authorized adult (18 years or older) must be present on site during the entire diagnostic and repair window. To ensure technician safety and avoid delays:

  • Please maintain clear, unobstructed access to the appliance and utility shut-off valves.
  • Ensure household pets are safely secured in a separate area.
  • Disclose any prior attempts at DIY repair, known gas leaks, or electrical hazards.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand emergencies arise. We ask that customers provide at least 2 hours advance notice if they need to reschedule or cancel a standard service appointment so we can reroute our vans to awaiting homeowners.

7. Limitation of Liability

While our master technicians exercise extraordinary white-glove care (utilizing protective floor mats, clean uniform shoe covers, and insulated tool trays), our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific repair. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, such as food spoilage during prolonged unserviced power outages or pre-existing subfloor rot caused by chronic, undetected leaks.
